How I did it: Went out to one of the Pontoons up by Canberra.

Then took a small boat with marine biologists out away from the pontoon.  

It was like swimming around in an aquarium!

No need to dive, the reef is not deep at all and there are places where you have to be careful not to scrape yourself on it it is so close to the surface.

Lessons & tips: Select your lunch, but have them hold it until AFTER your excursion
Plan on champagne and a fabulous time
