How I did it: I decided to donate my hair to charity, and the cash donations from my sponsors about 2 weeks ago. Our school frequently has bake sales, but I decided to do something a bit more active. One of my best friends cut it off for me in assembly infront of the whole school. I've raised about £400 so far. I've never had short hair, in my whole 18 years, so it's certainly a new experience!

Lessons & tips:

1. Keep your hair in good condition. Cut off the split ends and nourish it.
2. Use good quality scissors for the actual cut.
3. Make sure you have enough hair left for a 'rescue' operation.
4. Chase people up who said they would donate and haven't.
