How to eat gelato in Italy
"I have Italian heritage and eating gelato in Rome made me feel more in tune with my heritage than seeing every museum, piece of artwork, and tourist trap."
How I did it: My father's law school (St. John's Law School) wanted to have an alumni trip to Italy. I don't think it was very widely known among all the old alumni, since it was primarily those who graduated in the 70s or earlier. There were not many of us, perhaps 4 or 5 families in total? But we went to Rome. They saw their branch of the law school in Rome, and I got to eat gelato. It was so deliciously worth it. I recommend a little place near la fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain). If you have difficulty in deciding on a flavour, go with lemon. That's what I'd say the Italians do best.
