How to visit the rustbelt
It made me
Nostalgic 
"Industrial graveyards, beautiful rolling hills, Irish grub and all the good beer you can drink."
How I did it: Went to Western Pennsylvania for a week in October. I visited all the old steel towns and small cities in the rolling hills. It was peak autumn leaf changing season and the hype for Halloween was infectious.
Lessons & tips: It provides a truly "Americana" experience. The towns were poor and devastated, but the people were kind and welcoming. The food was incredible and hearty!
