How to move to seattle by littlelulu13

"Seattle has been my land of reinvention."

How I did it: In March 2006, I was married, a high school teacher, living in the suburbs in the state I grew up in (Utah), and was unhappy. In May 2006, I was divorced, waiting tables, living in New York City, and was intrigued. In September 2008, I am single, working in corporate America, living in Seattle, and am soul searching. If the fates conspire, I will be living in Australia and taking the next steps on my life journey.

Lessons & tips: Be gentle with yourself - culture shock is a very real phenomenon.

Resources: I relied on my family and close friends to give me pep talks and encouragement.

Congratulations! That is so inspiring for me. I’ve wanted to move to Seattle for a couple years, but both times I had the money to move, I also had boyfriends that convinced me to stay. Now I’m both single and broke (funny how that happens…), but I’m planning on moving in the Spring if all goes well! I wish you luck on your continuing journey :)
