How to go vegan (again)
How I did it: I've fallen in love with vegan baking, so the switch wasn't difficult at all! When you cook nearly everything you eat from scratch, it's completely simple to omit all animal products from your food. Onward to the next task at hand: become baker!
Lessons & tips: None, really, just try to nip dependence on restaurant food in the bud until you've got the vegan thing down. You get more easily dejected when many of your meals are spent scouring menus to find you can only eat a side salad. Get a couple of great cookbooks and you'll be a vegan pro in no time! Oh, also: I've been a vegetarian for almost 7 years, so this was a lot more simple for me than it would be coming from meat-eating...I recommend going vegetarian first to ease yourself into it.
