How to register as an organ donor
How I did it: If you live in the UK you can register online in less than ten minutes. It really is worth it! The website can answer any questions you might have, and you can choose what organs you would donate if anything were to happen to you - for example, I chose to donate everything except my corneas, partly because one of my eyes is scarred and they wouldn't be useful, but mostly because I find the idea of someone else using part of my eyeballs kind of ... squicky. But that's just me!
The website is http://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ukt//how_to_become_a_donor/how_to_become_a_donor.jsp
It asks a few questions and for your name and address information, puts you onto the central register, and you'll be sent a donor card to carry with you in the post.
Although it's great that you're considering doing it, you need to make your family and friends aware of your wishes, because if something were to happen to you they can override your decision even if you register.
I'm sorry, I don't know how you would register for organ donation outside the UK.
Hope this helps!
