How to go on a safari
How I did it: My sister was planning a study abroad and as soon as it was set so was I to meet her in Africa. I say it took 5 days just because that was the duration. We went on two - one three day and one two day. They were booked through Seleva tours I believe the name is and she took amazing care of us!!! Please use them - if you look it up and don't find it let me know and I'll get the definite info. Went to the Masai Mara reserve and the Amboseli Reserve near Kilimanjaro. I saw all of the big 5 in the wild except the leopard...but got to see that up close at the Narobi zoo.
Lessons & tips: Take appropriate clothing - casual and comfy - and you'll need sweaters and gloves even during probably June, July, and August for the morning game drives...you are there at sunrise and before sunset. A telephoto lens is a must for good pictures...you get up very close to a lot of animals but it definitely helps a lot.
Resources: sunblock, sweater, point n shoot camera, and telephoto lens camera, and believe it or not an ipod we had an annoying car member that would not stop talking.
