How to learn buddhist meditation
"Inspiring, calming, grounding--I'm very glad I did this."
How I did it: I took a class at a Buddhist center near my home. I had joined a meditation group that met once a week, but was finding meditation challenging. The class really helped me understand how to meditate, as well as some different kinds of meditation and how they work. It's still a bit challenging to quiet my mind and focus my breath, but I can tell something is shifting for me. I feel a little calmer, a little less chaotic. Small changes, to be sure, but they are there.
I've been meditating every morning, and I think I'll be able to keep it up. It's good to start off with it--sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Lessons & tips: Take a class or join a group. It really helps to have guidance from others who have been practicing.
