How to donate blood
How I did it: The whole thing didnt phase me at all untill i was laying on the bed with a very chatty nurse talking to me. The actual process of taking the blood takes about 5 mins and this is quite a strange feeling , knowing it is being drained from you. But dont be put off.! Its totally painless and the fact i'd just got into the series 'True Blood' did'nt help. Felt a little faint afterwards and the lights in the room were about 10 times brighter, but all in all within about 10 mins i was feeeling great.
Only downer was that the football was on and i could crack open a beer for at least 24 hours.
Lessons & tips: Usual tips given to you on arrival plus drink lots of water before you get there and make sure you book in advance, you can do this online. Otherwise you may be in for a very long wait, and this is no good if you are already a little nervous about the whole thing.
