Wow! I am always inspired when people follow their dreams. Hope you live some fabulous adventures to tell your grandchildren.
How I did it: My Mum and father grew up living in different countries, one grandfather being a missionary and the other in the RAF. I, on the other hand, grew up in Croydon, South London. I felt as though they had done something I never had the chance to do - and I was missing out. I wanted exciting stories about foreign parts to tell my grandchildren about like my grandparents tell me. So when it came to choosing Universities I chose one which had an optional year abroad. And now I am studying Theatre Studies in the Malta for a year!
Lessons & tips: Find out as much as you can about your chosen country before you arrive - as there will be things you hadn't thought of anyway so make the list of unknown as short as possible so you can settle in quickly.
Resources: Erasmus University exchange program.
