How I did it: How I did this was, I thought about how poetry made me feel, and in my spare time I would read poetry books and figure out how to express my feelings. Finally, I get to have the opportunity to write poetry and get paid for it, and that makes me feel great because when I write or read poetry it calms me down from a stressful day, or it makes me laugh and feel good when I need a good laugh. Lastly, I think of all of the things that have happened to me too because I can write poems about family, friends, work, or school.

Lessons & tips:

• Think abot how poetry makes you feel.
• Be positive about writing poetry.
• When writing poetry do not be stressful. Let all of the stress go and feel better and relaxed.
• Think of good things that have happened to you in your life.
• When going through bad situations, write a poem about them and calm yourself down from being stressed or angry.
