That’s a real good approach on learning of new religions, I did the same when I was in university. But what I found was that the classes were introducing religions in a very narrow perspective and really looking at the historical aspects of it instead of the fundamentals of the religions.
In all honesty, I found that the best way to learn of other religions is to research independently and personally visit the places of worship. I can see what you mean about how religions can make someone feel bad about the things that one has done. But don’t you think thats imperative to realize your mistake and aim to correct it for next time because without correction and self-realization, you can be doing the same thing for the remainder of your life and in essence you could be part of the larger population doing something that could be immorally or ethically wrong. I am not using “you” in this context as a direct reference to you but in general.
