How to be less of a perfectionist
How I did it: To a perfectionist, a perfect day where everything happens just right is a good day, whereas a good day where some things didn't go right is a bad day. That's just a silly way to live. With the help of some friends and family to identify the specifics of my own perfectionism, I began to be satisfied with a little bit less of everything. It took some time and getting used to, but any pain in letting go was dwarfed by the release of not caring so much about so many details. I did it, and you can too.
Lessons & tips: Be patient with yourself, and never critical. Or, if you want to be critical, think about it like this, if you're going to be your own worst enemy, you might as well be your own best friend at the same time. Give yourself breaks when you don't feel like you deserve them. Tell yourself it's okay to fail and do a B or C job at life some days.
