How I did it: I wanted to make more money, but I wasn't willing to give up myself as an artist.  I had to be resourceful, jump around to different things, expand my skill sets and be willing to be non-traditional.  I had to spend some time failing and on food stamps.  I finally found a way to make the money that I needed to be happy and comfortable in the amount of time that I was comfortable spending on that pursuit.  I like what I do, but it is a compromise sometimes.  It is not my favorite job, I'd rather make money directing and writing and performing of course, but that is not yet to come.  For now, I make the money I want and I still have time to do my 'real job' as an artist.  That is worth it.
