How to stop using shampoo
How I did it: I started washing my hair with baking soda (get the really fine grained lab quality stuff, because arm&hammer just doesn't work as well)..and rinsing with apple cider vinegar.
I henna my hair once a month.
My hair feels lighter, the color stays nicely, it does not smell, stays clean longer, and the "frizziness" that once existed is all curl, baby. I imagine it would work great for other girls with fine locks that want to bring the curl out of hiding.
Lessons & tips: Don't use anything but finely crushed, pharmaceutical grade baking soda (no arm&hammer- it is hard to washo out, and the ph doesn't seem to be right with it)...and go VERY lightly on the apple cider vinegar- dilute it well...and don't use it on EVERY wash. Your hair will be a greaseball. Don't wash your hair every day, either. I say every other day for two weeks, and then from there, only wash it when it starts looking like shit.
Resources: Baking soda (got mine in Guatemala- but, am now using Deerfield organic).
