How to take a pottery class
How I did it: I am taking a spiritual mastery class, where we had an exercise where we focus on our "inner child" (for me this = emotional self), and what it may be lacking and that we, in our adult lives, can possibly do to help it.
Mine was lacking a feeling of fun, of playing. I agreed that I could make this happen. I remember making mud pies as a kid. And even coming across some natural clay, dug up out of a wetland, which I took home and tried to use to make various things, which I baked in the sun (and which never seemed to dry other than into a fragile easily-crumbled mess). I also liked to paint. I loved finger painting.
And so there is some part of me that has wanted to take a pottery class for years. To squish wet mud through my fingers and do something with it, create shapes. And paint them. Maybe even rub some of the mud on my face and my jeans. Just get dirty in the mud, but maybe also create something beautiful too.
