How to get my wisdom teeth out
How I did it: At 12 I had braces and was told I needed my wisdom teeth removed. I didn't see them and they didn't bother me, so I let them be. Then when I was around 23 they started to emerge, but they still didn't bother me so they stayed. When I was 26 they bothered me once in a while but never for more than a day and a half, until two weeks ago (now 30) when they bothered me constantly and were making me unpleasant at home and at work. I went to a doctor that yahoo suggested, but she was awful, a friend suggested hers and by the next evening I was wisdom tooth free. I was knocked out completely, which I was REALLY freaked out about but grateful for. It's been almost a week, and I'm starting to eat transitional foods, though I'm still in some pain, I'm hoping in the end it was the right decision.
Lessons & tips:
- Buy soft foods ahead of time
- Buy extra gauze ahead of time (non-rolled)
- Make sure you have 4 ice packs so that you can rotate them out
- If possible bring more than one person with you, that way someone can stay with you while your prescription is filled
Resources:
- 4x4 gauze sponges
- ice packs
- Dreyers Slow Churned ice cream
- bucket... just in case
