How I did it: i've always worn the same styles, but with weight loss and and aging - i had to start all over again.
initially i didn't want to go into the stores. i hate trying clothes on; the staticy hair, dressing/ undressing, even hanging the clothes back on the hangers gets on my nerves. mail order with accurate measurements was my first choice, but after having to return almost everything - i went shopping.
i tried on just about one of everything, and found some styles that are flattering (and cute). I opened up the charge account so i was able to buy the full wardrobe all at once. i have a plan to have it paid off in three months.
Lessons & tips: try lots of things on. even if it's not what you've worn in the past.
