How I did it: i've been scouting some new shoes for months, saving them into polyvore, stylefeeder, etc. I just couldn't make myself spend money on something i wouldn't wear that often.
my new job requires practical shoes - definitely, and i work all the time. i have missed my cute shoes though. my shoe size has decreased a size in the past two years, and all of my coveted shoes have been passed along as i can't wear them anymore. i'd been left with a cheap pair of ballet flats, and tennis shoes.
window shopping online last week paid off, and i found a really cute pair of patent wedges at a bargain basement price. they're mine now, and i've already found occasion to wear them once.
