How to move from Boston to Las Vegas.
How I did it: I flew out to Vegas to explore, then I stayed with my mom and dad for a couple of months. Back in Boston I donated just about everything I owned to Boomerangs (a non-profit thrift store) except for my computers and 5 boxes which I shipped parcel post for $200. I kept my ears and eyes open for the perfect place to come along which fit my budget and requirements, also I was blessed by the children of an elderly women named Bunny who passed away in my parents neighborhood. They heard about me just moving here and having donated all of my belongings back east, they where going to donate all of Bunny's furniture and stuff to a non-profit, instead the choose to donate it to me and help me get back up on my feet faster. My brother coworker had a one bedroom for rent which fit my budget and 3 months later I moved out of my parents house back into my fully furnished condo. I couldn't be more happy right now.
Lessons & tips: I have come to learn the hard way that Las Vegas health care situation is lacking behind the rest of the country. Especially when it come to mental health needs. Prepare in advance and check out and make sure your insurance plan will be accepted here, also I know making a 3 month in advance appointment with a psychiatrist seems rediculisous but I ended up waiting almost 4 months to get in with that type of doctor, and it was not from trying, they just don't have a comparable mental health system here compared to other parts of the country where I have lived like Seattle WA and Boston MA.
