How to get a tatoo
How I did it: I worked very closely with the artists so as not to just pick something off of the wall. I listened when they told me that I needed to pick things that I saw as beautiful and that would *always* see as beautiful. To never make a tattoo a drunken or a spur of the moment thing. Also, money does matter as far as ink quality goes and just because something costs a lot does not mean settle for less. Save the money, the ink quality (at least at Fry Street Ink) was the best and the artists there were the best too. I do not regret any of my tattoos. I have a flower on my rib cage which is actually a mix of two seperate flowers I brought photos of which were taken on a cruise I went on to Mexico and the artist put the two flowers together in one tattoo. I have a small chickadee on my ankle, a magnolia behind my ear and a bunny (yes, a bunny) on my back going from (pardon the way I describe this) my butt crack to higher than my bra line.
Lessons & tips: Look for quality. PONDER AND THINK before you ink. Look at the artists portfolio before you decide on one and realize that it is FOREVER.
Resources: Shop around. Visit many tattoo parlors and when you decide make sure that you are comfy with the price, the person and the art that will be on your body forever. Also, if you have a friend who has ink you love obviously scout out the shop she/he got it done at.
