How to run
How I did it: When I was younger I was always sick and had many health problems. It was hard for me to accept that I couldn't even run a 1/2 mile. As I got into holistic health and turned around my life, I realized I could probably get into running and get in shape now that I had my asthma and other health problems under control and wasn't suffering from all the side effects of the medicines I stopped taking. Three years later, after slowly working my way up, I am able to run a 5k in 40 minutes. Which isn't even a really good time, but I'm so proud of myself from where I started. My next goals are to get my times down and eventually to run a marathon!
Lessons & tips: Don't give up. Even if you can't even run around the block to begin with. You will get there. Always commit to going a certain distance. Even if you can't run the whole distance, at least walk the whole thing. You will get more of a workout that way and also if you're pressed for time it might inspire you to run further than you think you can to cut down the time! Also, I do my best running alone. Even now, I find it hard to run more than a mile with other people because it's hard to find your own pace. You always want to keep up with your friends and it makes it harder, at least for me.
