How to watch a ballet
How I did it: When I was younger I was never interested in this stuff and as I got older I sort of viewed ballet as for the rich people because on films you see the rich people going to the opera or the ballet. The Nutcracker was coming to the Sunderland Empire so I persuaded my Mam to get tickets with me. We went to the box office and booked our tickets and we had fab seats right at the front. The show was good and the costumes and set was great, but around about the middle of the show I became bored. It really wasn't that varied. I get that there is only so much you can do with ballet but it was just repetition of the same moves over and over again and once you've seen something...you've seen it! I'm glad I saw it but I don't think I would ever spend my money going back!
