How to learn to drive
How I did it: Well, lets see. It started almost 16 years ago when I was in high school. I was 15, and started taking driver's ed. I don't remember the classroom portion being that hard, and neither was the driving portion.
There was one part, that I distinctly remember. We (myself, the instructor, and the other two students in back) were driving northbound on I-35. There had been some road construction going on so the lanes were a little narrower than usual. I was beside an 18 wheeler as we approached a bridge going over a river. That bridge had no guardrails at the time.
So here I am, learning how to drive, with an 18 wheeler on me left, river on the right, WITH NO GUARDRAIL!!! Needless to say, I was not too comfortable with this situation. I don't know if the driving instructor sensed my un-easyness, or perhaps had some himself, or if I was drifting to the right, but for whatever reason, he reached over and grabbed the steering wheel!!
Calm down, relax, pay attention to what is going on, signal your intentions, and you will be good. You won't be great at it your first time out, but you will get better. Everyone was in your shoes at one time or another.
Start out slow, and you will get better with time.
