How to experience 100 new things by the end of December 2009
How I did it: I kept a day planner (where my schedule goes) but I added short snippets of 'new things' on the day that they were experienced. I used a different color pen than usual and made a note "43things" or something to that effect next to each event.
It helps if you do not run to the computer after completing each 'new thing'. Since 'new things' tended to result in chain reactions of new experiences stopping to blog about my achievement meant missing out on something that happened as a result. There are days in my planner where 5 or 6 new things are listed, this was possible because I jotted them down and continued to experience the day.
Using this method made this goal easy.
Lessons & tips: Don't short change your experiences: new books count just as much as visits to a new country. The difference is that visit to Italy has many 'new things' nested inside of it than the book does.
I counted new recipes, new pets, new elements in my career as well as more major changes like my wife's unemployment (you do not want to experience something like that 100 times LOL).
Resources: Just a day planner and a writing utensil. I'm sure this goal would be possible with very little cost (depending on how you approach it).
