How to lose 10 kilos
How I did it: After recovering from several years of eating disorders and piling on the weight as a result, I realized i had to change my attitude to food or my body would continue to suffer.
Some really thin girls at my old work were talking about calorie counting and I decided to give it a go.. I had already hit rock bottom, another crash diet couldn't hurt.
Turns out that calorie counting is in no way a crash diet unless you abuse the calorie intake:
I dropped from 85kg to 72kg (current) and I'm aiming for between 60 to 65kg.
I'm already thinner than i was purging after meals (75kg), so I can honestly say that the few months of fatness was worth healing the disease that is eating disorders.
It was extremely difficult to stop entirely, I'm tempted still to binge/purge, but it is 100% worth the pride my boyfriend and family have in me, and the self confidence and security in appearance i have gained!
Lessons & tips: The website I used for calorie counting is exclusively for Australians, so just see resources below.... it really helps.
Realise that it's not, never, ever, ever about looking 'hot'.
If it's entirely about looking 'hot' or 'anno' you'll never complete the task.
Focus on your health. Feel like in 20 years time you can look back upon your actions with some sense of pride or satisfaction.
