How to get a masters degree
How I did it: I put my head down and wrote essays for the rubbish compulsory modules I had to do . Rather stupidly I didn't use my supervisor at all for my final dissertation, partly cos I didn't write anything until two weeks before hand in, partly because even though she knew a lot, she didn't necessarily know much about what I was researching. But it all worked out ok in the end.
Lessons & tips: University prestige is nothing- find a uni that you like. My undergraduate uni was just so much more fun than my Masters uni, it really depressed me being in a new place, not knowing anyone, and not having that undergraduate moving out and freshers experience to compensate for it. That being said I did meet my husband at my new uni so its not all bad! :)
Resources: My undergraduate dissertation supervisor! My personal tutor during my Masters was a brilliant woman who gave me lots of advice for Dphil applications and I now have a place to begin my doctoral research next month.
