How to get married
How I did it: I prayed lots and when I met my now- husband, I sort of knew that something would happen. And he got a friend to speak to me, we met up and decided we liked each other, he met my family, I met his... six months after meeting we got married! Alhamdulillah, all praise is due to Allah.
Lessons & tips: Pray for guidance, keep busy with whatever else your doing so you don't get too distracted, talk to wise friends, get wise friends to meet said prospective husband and give opinions, and know that if Allah wills it to happen, it will happen, and if He doesn't, it won't, so alhamdulillah either way.
Resources: I read lots of fantastic articles and books about marriage before I got married, namely The Marriage Book by Nick and Sila Lee, and The Seven Principles for making Marriage work, though I can't remember the name of the author. Its important to acquaint yourself with things that could very easily go wrong in marriage so you can anticipate them and nip them in the bud. The best resource by far is prayer!
