re: no sloppy joe (beef)

I keep recalling this “Abused Cow Video Leads to Massive Beef Recall” fiasco. And Oprah getting sued for telling the truth about the beef industry. So for breakfast I skipped the sloopy joe. Maybe I’ll skip it for lunch.
Maybe I’ll send a video link to others just to remind them & maybe they’ll end up buying less beef & maybe less other-white-meats too, (cuz I’ve heard about some really scary/sickening stuff about the chicken industry too)!
I think it’s really sad that those industrialists are willing to ditch the health of children in lieu of that bottom dollar.

edit: Even when done “naturally,” all they’ve done was look for the ‘meatiest’ bull/cows. This is a tunnel-visioned approach to what we’re going to be eating. Meanwhile, nature (through viruses & other sytem/structures e.g. healthy bone structure, strong spleen) is going to be looking into any multitude of ways to reveal any weakness in these beasts. And until nature does do-them-in, we’re going to be eathing ever-more unbalanced food.

-“Is it healthy?”
-“The animal is as healthy as another intensely-producing animal.”
Okay, so we’re back to square ‘negative-one.’ So much for “scientific progress”!

“There is a gene that regulates the growth of muscles in cattle. These cows have been selectively bred from animals that contain a copy of this gene which doesn’t work.” [emphasis supplied] “Meet the Super Cow” NationalGeographic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nmkj5gq1cQU

raslalique Happy new year friends!

Factory farming is really bad. I’m glad it’s not that bad in my country but I’m sure as we get “developed” somebody will borrow enormous amounts of money from the World Bank or some other such place to modernize our systems and bring it “up” to the factory farm level.

Hopefully by then I’ll have my farm set up so that I don’t have to buy food from any one. Period.

Keep healthy and have a great day!
