How to buy a fridge

How I did it: I went to a second hand shop, and offered an old man a few thousand yen in exchange for a white box. He agreed, he then explained to me that it has the mysterious power to keep things cool, however this particular box doesn't freeze things. After I made the purchase I carried it home with my arms, which was almost a 15 min walk.
Lessons & tips: 1. Bring plenty of money.
2. Make sure the shop sells refrigerators.
3. Use a taxi, it is easier on the arms
