How to learn to love my scars
"One of the best things I've ever done in terms of personal growth."
How I did it: I didn't do anything specific, just gave it time, and eventually I realised that I was comfortable with my scars. They are a part of me, and evidence of how far I've come since I was that unhappy that cutting was my way of escape. I am not necessarily comfortable with showing them to all my family and friends (although some are aware of them), but in myself I am fine with them, and, now, wouldn't get rid of them.
Lessons & tips: Just give it time. Learning to love the reminders of the pain you suffered is hard, but the feeling is worth the time it takes you to get there.
