How to get a pay rise

How I did it: I raised the subject with my boss and asked him exactly what I needed to do in order to get a payrise. We had argeed that I'd be getting one after a certain length of employment, but it hadn't yet come. I decided to be blunt and simply asked him what was going on.
Lessons & tips: Define with your boss (and get it in writing) exactly what you need to do to get a payrise. Make sure the aims are reasonable for both of you. Then meet these requirements. Don't forget to keep reminding your boss every time you fulfil one of these aims.
Check, re-check and double re-check all of your work!
Keep up the good work after you get your payrise.
