KayBellKnitter is making a life worthy of her talents
Congratulations!
How I did it: I wanted to knit a wearable pair but was very intimidated by the whole process.
In a Ravelry swap, I got some worsted weight yarn and a pattern to do a Christmas stocking. I plunged in since I didn't have to worry about it fitting, just looking good. Since I have three people in my family, I couldn't do just one.
Then I started knitting tiny socks as ornaments. They were quick and very satisfying. About 20 tiny socks later, I felt confident in the structure.
I finally returned to a sock that I had started some years ago, thanks to the generousity of a friend with supplies. With every stitch it was "I remember this."
Now I'm starting on pair #2!
Lessons & tips: Best advice I got was--whatever the pattern says, do it. The turns, the decreases ... just do it. It will work out in the end.
