How to make my own Christmas gifts

"When my niece said she had received the best Christmas gift I was floored that the jewelry box I made her beat out the Wii she also received!"
How I did it: I made a list of all the people for whom I wanted to make gifts. Then I decided upon the appropriate gift to make them. With a week vacation from work I made great progress but in the end having 9 people for whom I was making individual gifts was a bit of a stretch.
Lessons & tips: If making unique gifts for each person I need to start earlier. I hope that next year I can decide on 1 or 2 things to make for everybody.
