"For all my fellow cynics out there-- I want to let you know that love does exist."

How I did it: Unlike most single teenage girls, I was not searching for love. I was happy to be single and didn't want a boyfriend. There was a boy I had a crush on, but I didn't think it would go anywhere. Still, I decided to invite him downtown with a few friends. One of my girlfriends told me right off the bat that she thought he was cute. After the trip I told him about it, admitting I was a bit jealous. That's when he told me he liked me, and everything began.

It's been six months now and only LAST FRIDAY (lol) did I have my little light bulb moment where I was like, "Wow. I am absolutely in love this boy. I don't know what I would do without him." Cheesy...but it's true. :)

Lessons & tips: * Don't be afraid to take things slow. If it's meant to happen, then it will.

Resources: I spoke a lot with friends, who encouraged me to take a chance in the first place.

This made me really, really happy for some reason.

My boyfriend and I have only been “official” for a short while, but we’ve been close friends for years. Like very, very close >_>

My best friend told me if I was going to fall in love with him, I probably already would have. I just didn’t agree. I know I’m not in love with him. It just hasn’t happened. And she had me all flustered and worried that our relationship won’t become anything more.

Your story, about how it took you six months, has put my mind at ease.

Aww I’m glad it made you happy. I was just thinking today, how wonderful it is when you grow to love someone, instead of convincing yourself you’re in love right from the start or something silly like that. Love takes time, and you have to let it run its course. I truly believe that. I can look back on the entry now and think, after seven months, I love him even more than before. :)
