How to stop buying things i dont need. by SpeshLTony

How I did it: I now follow the principles I've learned through Financial Peace University and www.daveramsey.com

Just stay focused.  Try to window shop an item 2 or 3 times before you make the decision to buy it...you'll find out that 90% of the time when you give yourself time to ponder before you purchase, you don't spend.

Lessons & tips: Plan and Set Goals.  Know where your money is going and change it's identity - tell it where it needs to be allocated - whether spent or saved.  "Unnamed" money is what kills a budget.

No...

Dave Ramsey does offer seminars, and has authored several books, but it’s all very modest as far as such things go.

Mostly, he works through a radio program and podcast. All free.

Don’t let his heavily christian stance put you off. His financial advice is straightforward and sound. To a large degree, it’s pay off debt and then pay as you go.

I like his style and approach.
