How to learn to tango
How I did it: My husband and I started taking ballroom dancing lessons right before our wedding (so we wouldn't fall down in the opening dance!) and we loved it. It really gives you a better understanding of how your partner moves and thinks. We kept taking lessons after the wedding, and when our teacher found out we were going to Argentina for our honeymoon, she gave us really intensive lessons on Argentine Tango for six months.
If you're only interested in learning to Tango, I'd recommend finding a place where Milongas are held, they usually have classes as well. If you're interested in other styles of dancing as well or live in a small town, check out your local Arthur Murray or it's equivilant - that's where my husband and I went and (though it's sort of like a cult) it's been extremely fun and the instructors are great.
Lessons & tips: Group classes are a great way to practice, and are cheaper than one-on-one instruction.
Dancing is a great thing to do with your husband (you're aware of each other and doing something together, but you don't have to talk. Nice change).
As with any kind of dance - you can learn how, but you're never totally done learning. You can always get better. I'm saying this is complete because I can say "I know how to dance the tango" without laughing.
