How to live on my own

"Went through hell remodeling, but now I feel sooo free!"
How I did it: bought a cheap apartment that needed remodeling. Worked on it for a year. If I could do it all over, I would spend more for something that didn't need remodeling.
Lessons & tips:
- don't be afraid to spend money. I see a lot of people who think they can't afford a proper home, but it's just in their heads
- pressure the banks to give you the best loan they can. You can never visit too many banks to ask for deals.
