How to do a front walkover
"I held a half-scorpion handstand and opened my shoulders as much as I could, then stayed rigid as I fell over -- amazingly I came up to my feet."
How I did it: This only took me a few weeks of effort, but I didn't start trying seriously until after I had my back walkover -- that means I pretty much started out with the strength and flexibility and only needed to figure out technique.
I don't need any forward momentum for this. The trick is basically to get into a handstand, open my shoulders as much as possible, scorpion one leg while arching my back, and then holding that position as rigidly as possible so that falling over brings me back to my feet. It seems important to leave the head back as long as possible; if I snap it forward too fast it can sabotage the whole attempt to stand up and I fall backwards instead.
Lessons & tips: Acrobatics, tumbling or circus lessons are obviously useful.
Don't worry too much about age; I'm 32. :-)
Resources: Tumbling lessons.
