How I did it: Bought an awesome starter kit from Bella Luna Toys (online) and after some extensive online research and how-tos, I just went for it! It's great fun and a simple hobby that requires very little knowledge or effort on the part of the crafter.
I would not that it is not, however, for children, due to the extremely small, fragile and sharp barbed needles involved! Good luck!
