How to pare down and reorganize my hall closet
"Controversial but space-saving."
How I did it: The hall closet was full to the brim with our family games. I had several appliances stuffed inside, our card table and chairs, and several discarded coats and jackets.
I pared down and reorganized the games, got rid of the stuff we didn't use anymore, and made better use of the space on the shelf above the closet rod.
Lessons & tips:
- I used a tip from Unclutterer and deconstructed the games, removing them from their boxes and putting them inside really large (jumbo sized) labeled ziploc bags.
- I removed everything that didn't fit or wasn't working and either put it out for the trash or in a pile for Goodwill.
- I took the Goodwill load TODAY.
- The games - we had about 40 and pared down to about 32 fit inside a woven trunk and a Rubbermaid tote now.
