How to go horseback riding
How I did it: I paid the nice folks. They tacked my horse. I got up there. I rode Buttercup (my horse). We had a cowboy supper at the top of the mountain, and then we rode back down.
Lessons & tips: Don't fall off! Get a sure-footed horse, because the mountains don't have guard rails.
I have been horseback riding in my past, and have actually broken horses, so I'm experienced. My husband isn't though, and he did a very respectable job. A first time rider would be just fine as long as they're not too heavy. One man on our ride was very...uh...stout, and his horse kept trying to rub him off against the mountain. HAHAHA! I'd say that guy must have weighed around...325 lbs. or so.
If you weigh more than 300, you might want to respect the horse and not go.
Resources: We picked up one of the brochures and just went for it.
