How to learn to program
How I did it: took college courses and figured things out probably one of my best skills to date. I learned on an online class which is mostly self taught anyway. Starting out with Python is a pretty strait forward book but I also used the artical Instant hacking at hetland.org (link provided below) to get most of the basics down too. I think from here I'm going to move into some more object oriented programming languages like C or maybe Perl
Lessons & tips: Don't be afraid to research things on your own, my prof literally did no teaching for this class whatsoever all the stuff I learned was directly out of the book trust me on this one. Python is probably the easiest to start out with things are pretty strait forward and doesn't involve too many extra steps or pieces of software (like C) everything you need is packaged in the installer for Python.
