How to learn to knit mittens
How I did it: my hands were getting way too cold so I looked up a pattern online for crocheted mittens, bought yarn, borrowed a hook, and started. I've done a fair bit of crocheting before -- nothing too difficult, but a lot of practice. In my opinion, it's easier than knitting mittens.
Lessons & tips: It helps if you have some prior knowledge of crocheting but the pattern I used didn't have any overly complicated stitches. You can find all the instructions you'll need online by searching things like "how to crochet" or specific stitches like "how to single crochet." Online videos are helpful.
Number #1 tip/lesson: ALWAYS follow the weight of yarn and size of hook specified in the pattern otherwise you can end up with some oddly sized things.
