I already lost a hard drive once and with it precious photos and files… I need to do something to prevent that from happening again!
How to copy all my photos to disks or an external drive

"I lost my hard drive in '07. Along with all my photos and videos of my newborn son!! I paid a stupid amount of money to get them back and then promptly subscribed to a service to back up my hard drive DAILY. Peace of mind."
How I did it: I use Carbonite at www.carbonite.com it's about $100 for a two-year subscription. I also bought a good sized external drive on sale and transfered all my precious items to that as well so I have them double-backed up.
Lessons & tips: Don't wait on this one. $1500 later... I got about 95% of my stuff back. And that day I bought the on-line back up service. There are several out there, but I have needed to restore my pc on more than one occasion and have been pleased with carbonite. Very user friendly.
