Yay mindfulness!
How I did it: for me the key was self-analyzing. I was meditating, thinking, reading some wise stuff and I got to know myself much better. exercise (especially aerobics) is good to keep your mind going well. meditation is good to analyze yourself. once you know yourself better, you'll have much more compassion towards yourself, you'll see your human failings as something normal, not a thing to be ashamed of.
