No offense, but are you insane?
How can you advocate a food replacement diet?
It’s dangerous and stupid, and anyone who thinks that completely replacing food with anything like this is, in my opinion, an idiot.
There is only one safe way to lose weight, and that is to combine a sensible diet with exercise.
If you rely on shakes or whatever, yes you may lose weight, but your body will be reliant on what you have been using instead of food, and will not be able to cope when you start eating normally again.
Diets like this are never the answer. Just exercise regularly – 30 minutes of cardio (e.g.. running, cycling, rowing machine, stepper) three or four times a week, plenty of water, green or oolong tea in place of your normal tea or coffee, and a healthy diet. That’s all it takes.
Never try to lose more weight than your body can afford.

You’re going to say ‘no offence’ and then call me stupid?
If this kind of diet is not for you then that is perfectly fine but do not try and demean my intelligence for choosing it.
I did a lot of research into this diet before choosing to undertake it and also have the full backing of my GP who stands to gain nothing financially from my decision, just before that is assumed.
I fully understand that this diet is not for everyone and I’m intelligent enough to realise that if I go back to eating the way I was before then yes, the weight will go back on. This is not simply a diet, it is a chance to change the way you think about food and assess why it is you came to rely on it as an emotional crutch to begin with.
I know plenty of people personally who have been successful on this diet and who have kept the weight off for a substantial amount of time.
Once again, if it’s not something you would ever choose to entertain then you’re entitled to your own opinion, as is everyone, but do not assume that I am stupid or that I started this without doing the necessary research. I understand the risks involved but I also see the benefits every day which is exactly why I can advocate it.
Sorry to say
I did a replacement diet called Lighterlife out of desperation as I was told that my thyroid was fine although I had gained 5 stone in just 6 months – needless to say that the weight had returned with a vengeance shortly after going back to eating – only good thing it ever did for me was push my thyroid problem far enough to get a diagnosis. Never ever would I recommend doing a diet like this – too much water can and does KILL, there was a young mother who died earlier this year because she was drinking more and more in a bid to lose weight faster. I know that I will be able to lose this weight doing whatever exercise I can, I have heart disease due to the undiagnosed thyroid problem, and eating healthily. 2lb a week will be absolutely perfect for me, if I can make it 3lb a week I will be ecstatic, the 8lb+ that you lose on the replacement diets is not healthy no matter which way you look at it. I do hope that you are one of the lucky ones and this diet leaves you healthy and slimmer.
