How to survive and thrive after Windstorm 2008 by Harmonygirl as a Meez

"This was a tough experience as it triggered a lot of memories for me of past storms. However, by tackling each job as it presented itself and performing situational triage, as it were, I think the healing of myself and my town is well underway."

How I did it: There are still many signs around town that indicate the Windstorm 2008 damages and destruction.  There are many blue tarps on roofs and trees in different stages of demolition.  A few unlucky homeowners still have crushed houses around the area, I saw a house yesterday that looked like it was crushed as if it was a tin can.

However, today I got a reminder in my calendar - test the generator.  We did a quick generator test, primed it with gas, and it started right up.  Its humming noise comforted me as I used regular electricity to meet my needs inside my safe and intact home. 

I realized that it had been approximately a month since the power was restored for good, and I had set that reminder in my calendar as a monthly maintenance check to continue forward.

And continue forward I will, to feather my nest, test my equipment, and stay prepared but positive for the coming winter.
