How to clean out my closet.
How I did it: I just went in there and looked at everything I had and asked myself three things:
1. When was the last time I used/wore it?
2. Would I realistically use/wear it again?
3. Would I miss it if it were gone? / Did I even know it was in there?
After asking these questions, it was pretty clear which things did not belong anymore. There are a lot of things that I ended up holding on to because they have special meaning for me, but they are going to be put into a box together and not in the main circulation of the closet.
I ended up with a bed covered with things to take to goodwill/animal shelter/dumpster.
Lessons & tips: Try not to hold on to things on the basis of "I might need this at some point, someday" most things can be acquired when/if that day comes, so try to only keep things if you know you will use it in the future.
I think it's easier to do it all at once instead of letting it span over a longer period of time. I like to work methodically through the closet and make sure I don't miss anything.
Resources: Nothing really, just me.
